Munster facing pool battle after Wasps’ comeback sting

IF THE European Rugby Cup organisers were embarrassed at how the various Heineken Cup pools panned out, they should have been running for cover after what transpired at the Ricoh Arena on Saturday evening.

London Wasps edged out Munster by a single point, in a hugely-entertaining and full-blooded contest and having come from 10 points behind in either half, just about deserved to do so.

The sad fact, however, is that at least one of these two outstanding sides will be out of the competition in mid-January while some of vastly inferior quality will go on to the quarter-finals.
