PHIL VICKERY has underlined England’s determination to complete one of the greatest comebacks in sport, declaring: “This team is here to make its own history.”

A month after England suffered their record World Cup defeat — a 36-0 drubbing against South Africa — they are ready to face the Springboks again in Saturday’s final at Stade de France.

Since the Springboks mauling, England have reeled off successive wins against Samoa, Tonga, Australia and France.
