Kiwis wrap Carter in cotton wool ahead of France clash

NEW ZEALAND will monitor Dan Carter’s fitness closely after selecting him for Saturday’s World Cup clash with France in Cardiff.

Carter missed the 85-8 demolition of Romania with a calf strain and, although a scan ruled out a major tear, his training has been restricted.

The 25-year-old Crusaders fly-half will continue to be kept out of the firing line this week but coach Graham Henry is confident he will be ready to face the hosts.
