Coach left stumped by comedian Cooper

IRELAND coach Eddie O’Sullivan thought he had enough on his plate following his side’s dreadful World Cup but an Apres Match comedian had other ideas.

Risteard Cooper, who is making a tv programme on the ill-fated France campaign, stumped O’Sullivan at a press conference yesterday when he asked: “Eddie would you say you are a croque monsieur?”

It was a play on words involving one of France’s traditional hot foods.

“This is a professional press conference,” snapped Irish team spokesman Karl Richardson.

“I think the answer was in the question,” retorted Cooper.
