Knee injury forces Ferris out of Italy match

STEPHEN FERRIS has been forced to withdraw from the Ireland squad named for Friday’s game against Italy in Ravenhill.

Alan Quinlan will take up the vacancy left on the bench by Ferris.

Ferris’s left knee flared up yesterday afternoon following training and the Ireland medical team feel that a few days rest will allow the knee to settle down. Ferris is expected to resume full training next week.
