French ‘full of energy’ ahead of friendly

BERNARD LAPORTE believes he will be unleashing a hungry group of players when his French side take on England in Saturday’s World Cup warm-up match.

After being locked away since the start of July for six weeks of training and conditioning work, Les Bleus should be champing at the bit when they take to the field at Twickenham for their first friendly in the build-up to the World Cup.

Head coach Laporte is yet to name his starting XV — it will be announced early this evening — but he is sure whoever is picked will be fired up and desperate to prove a point.
