Shannon heartbreak as UL Bohs edge semi-final place

SHANNON lost their AIB League crown in the most galling and controversial circumstances over the weekend.

Nothing, apart from sneaking a late but meaningless victory over Dolphin, went right for the champions who were edged out of a semi-final slot by UL Bohemian and Garryowen.

While leaders Cork Constitution beat Ballymena to stretch their lead at the top to nine points and Clontarf eased into second place with a facile win over Dungannon, the drama was packed into three other games.
