England ‘precautionary cover’ for injured pair

England ‘precautionary cover’ for injured pair

World Cup winners Jonny Wilkinson and Jason Robinson are injury concerns ahead of tomorrow’s Croke Park clash against Ireland. While England head coach Brian Ashton insists no decision on either player will be made for “at least another 24 hours”, the world champions travelled from Heathrow with two extra passengers – London Irish back Mike Catt and uncapped Harlequins wing David Strettle.

The 35-year-old London Irish back Catt, capped 67 times, has not played for England since the second Test against Australia in Melbourne last summer.
