Brennan to face ERC hearing next week
The Toulouse forward, who is alleged to have entered a seating area during a match before punching the supporter, was due to attend an independent hearing in Dublin yesterday.
On Wednesday, legal teams for the player won a 24-hour injunction against the hearing at the High Court on the grounds its outcome could prejudice any criminal proceedings in France and affect Brennan’s right to silence.
Yesterday, lawyers for both Brennan and the European Rugby Cup (ERC) agreed that a hearing would go ahead next Friday but only on whether or not it would prejudice a case in France.
No criminals charges have yet been brought in relation to the incident.
