Leicester hoping Cullen will stay

THOUGH all signs point towards Leo Cullen returning to Leinster, Leicester coach Pat Howard hopeful the man he describes as Martin Johnson’s successor at the club may yet decide to stay.

“He definitely hasn’t signed with us for next season” said Howard. “We’d love to keep him. I know Leinster are interested. He’s got some decisions to make. He’s been really good for us, he’s been a great leader.

“He’s basically stepped into Martin Johnson’s shoes.

“We’re really happy with our second row talent. We’ve got four guys all capable of playing for their country, even Jimmy Hamilton.

“The competition has been fierce.”
