Major revamp for Cork rugby ground
Cork City Council gave the news to the Irish Rugby Football Union’s Munster Branch on Monday, just hours after Limerick City Council cleared a redevelopment of Thomond Park sought by the same body.
While the Musgrave Park project will not match its Limerick counterpart — the refurbished Thomond Park will have room for 29,000 people — it should provide an improved alternative venue for the Heineken Cup champions, with capacity set to increase from 7,500 to more than 12,300.
