Shanklin likely to miss Celtic League opener

TOM SHANKLIN may be forced to miss Cardiff’s opening Magners Celtic League clash with Munster at the Arms Park on Friday (7.10pm).

Shanklin, the Blues centre, has only just returned after ten months out of the game, and felt the heat when Bristol won a friendly between the sides last week.

Cardiff coach Dai Young said Shanklin would probably have to sit out Friday’s opener, emphasising that the player felt “rusty” in the Bristol loss.
