Bedford Blues chairman Geoff Irvine has slammed a decision to postpone the club’s opening National League One game against Rotherham.

While Rotherham continue their fight for survival, Bedford are left without a fixture next Saturday.

First Division Rugby have authorised the postponement due to continued uncertainty surrounding Rotherham’s future. Irvine though, is furious with the move, and intends to vent his feelings at an FDR meeting next Wednesday. He will also seek financial compensation.
