RONAN O’GARA paid tribute to Italy for helping Ireland turn over the world champions at Twickenham.

Although Italy ultimately suffered a hideous defeat in Rome, O’Gara revealed that Ireland identified a chink in England’s armour in their Six Nations opener.

“I think we saw from that game that England were a bit vulnerable out wide. Unfortunately, while the Italians attacked them in that area they weren’t able to hold onto possession. Our policy was to play from side to side but ensure we held onto the ball.
