Williams returns for Ospreys

Neath Swansea Ospreys manager Derwyn Jones says he hopes Wales and Lions wing Shane Williams will be free of his groin injury by mid-October.

“We hope to have him back within the next four weeks,” Jones said.

The 28-year-old aggravated the injury pre-season and it was feared he would miss Wales’ autumn internationals.

Gavin Henson is also expected back in mid-October, while fellow Lion Ryan Jones’ shoulder injury will keep him out for three weeks.

Next month’s expected return of Henson, Williams and Jones should boost the Ospreys’ Heineken Cup hopes, following a troubled start to their Celtic League season.
