Luger makes comeback for Harlequins

Luger’s return provides England coach Clive Woodward with a massive boost, seven weeks before the Royal Bank of Scotland Six Nations Championship opener against France at Twickenham.

Luger, whose career has been hampered by serious injuries, damaged his knee while on England sevens duty in April, but will start against Zurich Premiership opponents Bath at the Recreation Ground today.

Bath’s bid to climb away from relegation danger could also receive a timely boost. England stars Mike Catt and Iain Balshaw are lined up to appear for the first time together this season following injury.

League leaders Gloucester make the difficult trip to Northampton, Sainst coach Wayne Smith’s list of changes will be in double figures.

Premiership strugglers Newcastle and London Irish meet at the Madejski Stadium tomorrow, where Rob Andrew’s Falcons will be out to avenge their Powergen Cup defeat against the same opponents last weekend.

England star Jonny Wilkinson has been named in the Newcastle squad.
