O’Sullivan praises IRU

IRELAND coach Eddie O’Sullivan believes the Irish Rugby Union’s decision to centrally contract players is a major reason for his side’s improving fortunes.

Ireland are on course to win their first 6 Nations crown in 20 years after winning the first two games of this years championship.

O’Sullivan said: “The improvement in Irish rugby is based on the strategic plan by the IRU to centrally contract the players and manage them.

“It has been a massive advantage because it has allowed us to develop the strength of our players. This has been key to our development.”
