IRISH flanker Denis Leamy is confident of overcoming an ankle injury and playing in Munster’s Heineken Cup quarter-final against Perpignan at Lansdowne Road on April 1.

Leamy confident of facing Perpignan

Leamy, a try scoring hero at Twickenham on Saturday, arrived in Dublin wearing a protective boot. But he said the measure was purely precautionary and medics confirmed yesterday that there was no broken bone.

“I felt I was in trouble and it was a very painful experience but I iced it overnight, got the all clear as far as a break was concerned and there has been a big improvement overnight. Hopefully, I will be fit to link up with Munster for the next European challenge,” he said.
