Andrew tips Wilkinson recall

Rob Andrew believes Jonny Wilkinson should be England's fly-half in the 6 Nations Championship after his return to the starting line-up inspired Newcastle to a narrow 30-29 win over Sale.

Wilkinson started his first game for 11 weeks for Newcastle and tallied 20 points for his team that included a dramatic last-gasp try to deny Sale.

Wilkinson won his personal duel against Charlie Hodgson, who has been filling in as England no.10 during the former's absence through injury.

And Newcastle Director of Rugby Andrew said: "Charlie Hodgson is a very, very good player. Jonny Wilkinson is a great player, it's as simple as that.

"I have always felt that the three matches against Sale, Perpignan and Newport would be sufficient preparation for Jonny to play against Wales on February 5."
