Still more to come from Ireland, says Wood

FORWARDS coach Niall O’Donovan, outstanding second-row Paul O’Connell and flanker Simon Easterby came in for lavish praise from skipper Keith Wood at the end of Saturday’s game between Ireland and Australia in Melbourne.

However, he also dismissed a suggestion that losing by only a point to the reigning world champions on their home ground was a great achievement.

“We can’t allow ourselves to be destroyed by losing or to go over the top by winning,” said Wood. “Had we won and thought it was a great result and not focused on next week, we’d have been doing ourselves a great disservice.
