Wood targets autumn tests

IRELAND’S hopes of an autumn boost came in the form of good news from Keith Wood yesterday.

The Irish captain, suffering from a neck injury, believes he will be back in time to face Australia, Fiji and Argentina next month.

On a day when Munster fullback Jeremy Staunton was given the all-clear to line out against Perpignan in the Heineken Cup at Thomond Park tomorrow, Wood declared: “I hope to be back for the big games.”
