Henderson and Wallace set for return to Munster squad
It is too soon for a return to competitive action for Alan Gaffney's men, but the Munster coach will be delighted that both came through AIB League games for Young Munster and Garryowen, respectively, at the weekend. Henderson, whose last game for the province was against Gloucester on October 11 played the entire 80 minutes as Munsters sneaked a victory over Greystones at Clifford Park, while Wallace came on as a replacement and helped his side to a narrow victory against Belfast Harlequins at Dooradoyle.
Said Henderson: "The plan was just to play the first half but that stretched into sixty minutes. Then we had an injury so I continued on. It was a fairly rugged match and I was able to take and give a few hits. I shipped one particular tackle and the arm was quite sore for a few seconds but it settled down again and I was fine. I'm glad to have got through the match because it really was the first live situation that I have engaged in the type of contact you would expect in this game. In the end, I was also glad that I did play on for the full game because it proved to me I am in some sort of shape to go on from here. It wasn't a classic game but it was tough and physical, ideal preparation for a player coming back from injury."
