THE taunts directed at Ronan O’Gara came back to haunt Newport and Wales centre Ceri Sweeney as Munster powered to a Heineken Cup victory at Rodney Parade.

Sweeney had suggested that O’Gara played poorly under pressure and said Newport would target that weakness. O’Gara did his talking on the pitch.

“He’s entitled to say what he likes, but it wasn’t comment from a top player. The criticism didn’t come from the likes of Michael Owen, Kevin Morgan or Gareth Cooper. If any of them had said something like that, I might have been slightly upset because I have a lot of respect for these guys.”
