Viadana coach Bernini under no illusions

VIADANA coach Franco Bernini knows what awaits in Musgrave Park this evening.
Viadana coach Bernini under no illusions

Needless to say the Italian coach is under no illusion of the difficulty of the task against the two time European Cup finalists. Especially on their home patch.

“From what we have seen, they are different to Gloucester. The English team appear to be adopting more modern tactics than Munster, but the Irish team do what they do so very well. They play a simple game. There is nothing fancy but they play at a high pace and we will find it very difficult to keep them under control.”

Bernini admitted that Viadana would have a better chance of securing a good result than a win. “I know that all Irish teams are very hard to beat at home and Munster are particularly difficult.

“They have a lot of Irish internationals in the squad and Ireland has proved, with victories over Australia and Argentina, in recent weeks just how good they are.

“The Irish have had particularly good results since the start of the season and I know that many Munster players played a big part in that.

“Munster have a quality side but I believe they have world class half-backs and at number eight. It makes our task very difficult indeed.”

VIADANA: C Steyn, M Dolcetto, G Frasca, H Crane, R Pedrazzi, R Pickering, P Roux, M Savi, E De Bellis, L Bocchini, R Denhardt, F Gumiero, M Phillips, A Persico, D Farranigi.
