Yachvili threat to Llanelli

England’s Six Nations destroyer Dimitri Yachvili is determined to ruin another title dream when he tackles Welsh giants Llanelli tonight.

Yachvili, whose 19-point haul guaranteed Grand Slam and RBS 6 Nations Championship glory for France against England in Paris last month, provides a major threat to the Scarlets’ Heineken Cup semi-final ambitions. Together with fellow Grand Slam heroes Serge Betsen, Nicolas Brusque and Thomas Lievremont, Yachvili spearheads the Biarritz challenge in tomorrow’s sell-out Stradey Park clash. And Biarritz will be spurred on by Perpignan’s achievement last season when they knocked out Llanelli at the same quarter-final stage, despite conceding home advantage.

SCARLETS: B Davies; G Evans, M Taylor, M Watkins, S Finau; S Jones, D Peel; I Thomas, R McBryde, J Davies, V Cooper (capt), C Wyatt, D Jones, S Easterby, S Quinnell. Replacements: J Thiel, A Gravelle, A Jones, D Hodges, M Phillips, G Bowen, L Davies.
