Injured Burke withdraws from squad to play Wales

IRELAND out-half Paul Burke (Harlequins) sustained a hamstring injury in training yesterday and has withdrawn from the 22-man Ireland squad for next Saturday’s permanent tsb international at Lansdowne Road against Wales.

His replacement will be named when the team is announced at the City West Hotel today and coach Eddie O'Sullivan could also name talisman hooker Keith Wood in the side.

The Lions star missed most of last season due to injury, and has not represented his country since Ireland's World Cup qualifying matches almost a year ago.
