Roasting stings Wasps

WASPS director of rugby Warren Gatland revealed that harsh words in the dressing room inspired his side’s outstanding second-half performance yesterday, securing a 33-19 win over London Irish.

The Zurich Premiership champions ran in three second-half tries despite being without England’s Josh Lewsey, Joe Worsley and Matt Dawson, along with Ireland’s Jonny O’Connor, thanks to international calls.

Gatland said: “They got a roasting at half time and it was a good second-half performance when they came out and played to instructions.”
