But coach Brian Ashton says it’s not the end of the world, pointing out: “after today, I reckon I’ve had enough of Irish teams for one season. Munster would have been pretty formidable, a different type of challenge from Leinster but just as difficult.

“We play Leicester a couple of times every season, so we know what to expect. At this stage of the tournament, every game is tough.”
