The talks on the future of the Cork rugby venue are still at a very early stage; for the moment limited to a development committee who are focusing on the ground's potential.

The major problem is the financial implication of such a move; whether the money would be made available by the Irish Rugby Football Union or whether private enterprise might enter an arrangement with the IRFU and its Munster branch. A spokesman for the Munster branch admitted yesterday the existence of the committee: "No firm plans have been drawn up either for the immediate or long-term future.
