Forget World Cup heroics, says Thomas

GARETH THOMAS has told his fellow Welsh players to forget all about their Rugby World Cup heroics as they prepare for Saturday’s Six Nations opener against Scotland in Cardiff.

“We had a lot of positives in the World Cup but I don’t think you can go into a tournament like this thinking about what has been in the past,” said Thomas, part of the side that out-scored England three tries to one only to lose the quarter-final to the boot of Jonny Wilkinson.

“We believe we can win but the same happened last year. We were very confident going into the Italian game but we came out with a loss.”
