IRELAND coach Eddie O’Sullivan has welcomed the IRB’s decision to test for a new drug at the World Cup, and given his backing to the stringent testing methods, which have seen his players provide “an ocean of urine” in samples over the past 12 months.

The IRB have decided to introduce a test for the anabolic steroid tetrahdyrogestinone, also known as THG, which was previously unknown to drug testing authorities.

And O’Sullivan welcomed the move as evidence that rugby is determined to keep itself as drug-free as possible.
