The much-changed Scots snatched the lead on 11 minutes through Andrew Henderson, giving Paterson an easy conversion.

But the Baa-Baas hit back in the 25th minute when Andrea Lo Cicero charged over and David Humphreys converted.

Paterson put the home side ahead at the interval with a penalty.

The home team stretched their lead when Dougie Hall scored a brilliant try in the 66th minute with Paterson once again converting.

The night got even better for Hadden in the 70th minute when Dan Parks sent Rory Lamont over before another Paterson conversion.

Allan Jacobsen and Hugo Southwell put the seal on Scotland’s victory with further tries, which Paterson again converted.
