Old master Gaffney eyes high-flying Munster

ALAN GAFFNEY, the former Munster coach and now assistant to the beleaguered Eddie Jones with Australia, was an interested spectator at Thomond Park yesterday.

He was watching successor, Declan Kidney put his players through their paces in preparation for Saturday’s Celtic League clash with Ulster at Musgrave Park.

Table toppers Munster regard this as a crucial encounter in the context of the Celtic League itself and also in getting into the right frame of mind for the back-to-back Heineken Cup ties against Gwent Dragons on December 10 and 17.
