Ulster easy winners against Orrell
The Ballymena speedster was undoubtedly man of the match. He scored the first the first of Ulster’s five tries and the former Ireland under-21 star caused havoc every time he received the ball. Ulster stretched their lead in the 14th minute when Wallace, who was in excellent form throughout, jinked inside the covering defence to score at the posts. Ireland assistant coach Declan Kidney was up the stands as he watched Ulster’s three World Cup hopefuls Gary Longwell, Simon Best and Paul Shields do nothing that would suggest that they are out of the equation just yet. Hooker Shields was particularly prominent throughout.
ULSTER: B Cunningham, S Mallon, R Constable, S Stewart, A Maxwell, P Wallace, K Campbell, R McCormack, P Shields, S Best, M McCullough, G Longwell, T McWhirter, A Ward (capt), R Wilson.
