Irish fans urged to apply their green cards

THE Irish rugby team will run onto the pitch against their French rivals and will witness a unique sight.

Each ticket-holder will be urged to hold up their A3 green card when the team enters the pitch and also for each Irish try, resulting in the Lansdowne stands and terraces becoming an oasis of green.

Skipper Brian O’Driscoll, along with his fellow players Shane Horgan and Denis Hickie, are delighted to lend their support to APA (Aids Partnership in Africa).

With the support of the IRFU and O2, APA is making this happen. On the back of each A3 green card information will be given about the Aids Association, urging the Irish people to text HOPE to 57112. The cost of the text is e1.50, with the proceeds going to the APA. Standard operating charges will apply.

APA is an association that focus on Aids prevention working in Ethiopia and Tanzania. There are also plans for further projects in additional African countries.

Medicines, workshops and counselling are provided to those affected by the virus.
