Squad named for season warm-up

IRISH and Munster heroes David Wallace, Shane Horgan, Geordan Murphy, Paul O’Connell and Anthony Horgan are all ruled out of the Irish squad for the forthcoming seasonal warm-up fixture against Romania at Thomond Park on Saturday week.

None of the five were considered when coach Eddie O'Sullivan named a squad of 22 from which the team to play Romania will be announced next week.

But O'Sullivan is heartened by the return of Rob Henderson, Kevin Maggs and Denis Hickie as well as Eric Miller following the tour to New Zealand in June.
