Quinlan leads Club side

DAVID QUINLAN of Buccaneers will captain the Irish team to play Scotland in the AIB Club International on Friday, March 10.

The game is part of the IRFU/AIB Community Rugby Programme, which gives non-contracted club players the opportunity to win representative honours for Ireland and showcase the club game.

The game will be televised live from Donnybrook by RTÉ2 at 7.35pm.

The match 22 was selected from an initial squad of 38 players from 17 clubs across all three divisions of the AIB League.

Said Quinlan: “It’s a tremendous honour to be asked to lead the team, especially since it’s a very good side. We spent two weekends of trials in Dublin, and it was very tough, very committed; guys really wanted to make the team. It’s a real honour to be part of the first club international.”
