New Scotland coach Frank Hadden insists he can “make a difference” and lift the nation out of the slump presided over by predecessor Matt Williams.

Williams was sacked in the spring after a disastrous RBS 6 Nations which lost him the backing of the public and the players in his team.

However, Hadden has been handed a contract until the World Cup in 2007 after impressing with morale-boosting victories in his two games in charge in an interim capacity in May and June.
