Wood set for Munster comeback

KEITH WOOD is expected to play for Munster for the first time in over two years when they take on Rotherham in a friendly at Thomond Park on Friday night next (7pm).

Wood set for Munster comeback

The Irish hooker successfully came through 60 minutes of the international against Wales on Saturday with no ill-effects, having been out of the game for nearly a year.

He reported afterwards that he was a little “tired and sore” but was otherwise fine after his first competitive match since Ireland’s World Cup qualifier against Russia in Siberia last September.

Last night the IRFU said that all Ireland players fit after the Wales game would be available for their provinces this coming weekend.

Subsequent to that statement, Munster PRO Pat Geraghty confirmed that Wood would most probably be taking “some part” in the game against Rotherham.

“The likelihood is that Keith will play during the course of the game” he said.
