A quarter of an hour into the game and Shannon found themselves 10-0 behind, with their scrum-half in the bin and not looking like their minds were on the task at hand. However, they slowly got into the game and two superb tries, one in each half - coupled with two more disallowed tries - tells the story of a game which provided top-class entertainment for the small crowd in attendance.

UL Bohemians opened brightly, and showed scant respect for their much-vaunted opponents with a terrific opening try. Combining well in midfield, they opened up the Shannon defence to send centre Colman Finn over, and Ben Martin converted. Martin later added a penalty, but that was as good as it got for UL Bohemians.
