Jones' warning for England

Australia coach Eddie Jones yesterday warned England his side would not shy away from any physical confrontation in Saturday’s World Cup final rematch.

Jones' warning for England

Jones was reacting after England’s Simon Shaw was sent off for dropping a knee on All Blacks lock Keith Robinson and Danny Grewcock was banned until August 31 for stamping on Daniel Carter in Saturday’s fiery Test .

“We don’t have any fears about England,” Jones said, “Obviously England are going to approach the game in a physical, no-nonsense way. We’d be happy to accommodate them.

“Certainly some of the stuff off the ball isn’t what you want to see in international rugby but we’ll be ready for anything they’ve got.”

Shaw escaped a ban on a technicality and is now free to play against the Wallabies in Brisbane after it emerged the television match official had been consulted to identify him as the perpetrator, contravening International Rugby Board protocol.
