Talk of dream cup final is premature, warns Williams

LEINSTER coach Matt Williams was not among those surprised by the manner of Munster’s victory in Welford Road over Heineken Cup champions Leicester on Sunday— but he has warned Irish rugby fans not to look ahead to a dream European Cup final just yet.

“I always thought Munster were capable of a performance like that,” Williams said yesterday. “They defended magnificently, their resolve was as one. I am very happy to see them get through, and now there are no English clubs left in the competition.”

With Leinster and Munster both safely through to the last four, the possibility of a dream showdown at Lansdowne Road in May has moved a step closer to reality.
