France skipper doubt for Wallaby clash

FRANCE captain Dimitri Yachvili remains a major doubt for Saturday’s test against Australia after spraining his right ankle against South Africa last weekend.

France skipper doubt for Wallaby clash

The Biarritz scrum-half was replaced by Jean-Baptiste Elissalde in the dying minutes of their 27-13 defeat to the Springboks. Elissalde will take his place on Saturday.

Prop Pieter de Villiers looks set for a place among the replacements.

Team manager Jo Maso, meanwhile, has insisted his side, who defeated Australia 27-14 in their last encounter in November, will take on their rivals with no fear.

“Australia have just thrashed Italy 69-21 but this does not scare us,” he said.

“We want to finish this tour on a high and we will travel to the stadium on Saturday with pride and knowing what we have to do.”

Australia have made only one change from the side that hammered Italy, with full-back Chris Latham returning to the starting XV at the expense of Mat Rogers.

Coach Eddie Jones has also made a change in the substitutes, with lock Allister Campbell set to make his international debut after replacing Hugh McMeniman.

Flanker George Smith will celebrate his 50th cap.
