Coach sees red over ref as Exiles win

LONDON IRISH head coach Gary Gold will watch a video of his side’s 25-15 home victory over Worcester yesterday before deciding whether or not to file a complaint about the refereeing of Chris White.

The official was booed off by Irish supporters after yellow carding Ryan Strudwick and awarding Worcester a controversial penalty try in injury-time.

He also failed to deliver a yellow card when Worcester fly-half Tommy Hayes blatantly took out Irish winger Delon Armitage, who had both feet off the floor after collecting a high kick.

Gold said: “I’m going to need to have a look at the video and I will give our report through the usual channels.

“If we were persistently infringing we deserved the penalty try against us - but it has to be a level playing field.”
