Tigers’ Corry blow

Leicester’s pursuit of a Premiership and European Cup double was dealt a blow with the sending-off of Martin Corry in their 19-17 defeat at Saracens.

Corry was shown the red card by referee Chris White for elbowing Richard Hill in the face in the 27th minute of an explosive Premiership clash at Vicarage Road.

Leicester skipper Martin Johnson and opposing flanker Ben Russell were also sent to the sin-bin for fighting in a game punctuated by off-the-ball incidents.

Number eight Corry faces a ban of at least three weeks, which would rule him out of next Sunday’s Heineken Cup semi-final against Toulouse and the league game against Wasps on April 30.
