Magnanimous Ireland salute Welsh brilliance

O’DRISCOLL still believes Ireland will bounce back and was encouraged by the way they hit back at Wales in the last 30 minutes.

“We were so far down at that stage that we had to throw caution to the wind. As things happened, it worked for us, in part at least, while on another day we might well have been beaten by more playing that kind of rugby.

“I’m proud of my players for taking part in that exercise and showing enough guts to make Wales eventually fight a bit for the win. We went over to Wales to win a Triple Crown and possibly a championship. The last thing we wanted to do was to leave feeling humiliated.”
