Scots furious at Jones’ ‘last-resort rugby’ claim

Jones recalled the infamous 'Battle of Ballymore' in 1989 when Ian McGeechan's Lions used physical intimidation to overcome the Wallabies in the crucial second Test which paved the way for their ultimate series victory.

The Aussie coach claimed McGeechan would be prepared to use similar tactics at Suncorp Stadium this weekend last-resort rugby as he searched for a way to bridge the gulf in class between the last-eight foes.
