O’Driscoll’s shock move to Perpignan

MUNSTER has been dealt a major blow with the news last night that Mick O’Driscoll is to join Heineken Cup finalists Perpignan on a contract reputed to be worth €200,000 a year.

Despite the fact O'Driscoll was offered an improved contract as an Irish-based inter-provincial, and possibly an international player next season, the former UCC and Cork Constitution second row has opted to join the French side.

O'Driscoll clearly impressed Perpignan with his performances against them in the pool stages of the Heineken Cup this season and the French side has lofty ambitions for the future.
