Grewcock warns Bath

BATH captain Danny Grewcock has dismissed his team’s 14-point advantage over Parker Pen Challenge Cup rivals Montferrrand as irrelevant.

The Zurich Premiership leaders staged a thrilling fightback to defeat their powerful French opponents 29-15 two weeks ago.

But a star-studded Montferrand side will still fancy its chances of wiping out that deficit in tonight’s return encounter at Parc des Sports Marcel-Michelin.

“Every game now is a big one, and this second-leg match is no exception. The fact that we start the game 14 points clear means nothing,” said Grewcock.

“Montferrand proved at The Rec that they are more than a handful, and we will need to ensure that we establish our pattern of play early on to prevent them from getting into theirs.” Bath welcome back fly-half Olly Barkley, wing Simon Danielli and David Barnes comes in for injured prop David Flatman.
