Foley flattered to be leading Ireland

ANTHONY FOLEY expressed delight yesterday with the announcement that he was to lead Ireland for the third time in his 35-match Test career.

“It is unfortunate that Keith Wood has had to withdraw but it is a great honour to lead Ireland at any time and in any match. I have had a couple of opportunities before and I will take this one as well, even though I recognise that Keith is the full-time captain.

The revised Irish team is: G. Dempsey, J. Kelly, B. O’Driscoll, K. Maggs, D. Hickie, R. O’Gara, P. Stringer, R. Corrigan, S. Byrne, J. hayes, M. O’Kelly, G. Longwell, S. Easterby, A. Foley (captain), K. Gleeson.
